No, the main reason we don’t recommend mixing has to do with stomach pH. Kibble fed dogs generally have a stomach pH of around 4-5 (lower aciditity just above neutral) whereas raw fed dogs it’s around 1-2 (highly acidic). This higher acidity allows the stomach to break down and digest bone and helps kill the pathogens in raw meat. If you continue to feed the kibble simultaneously with the raw, you are delaying the PH from becoming more acidic which is necessary to digest the raw food.

Technically the meals can be cooked and fed as they are human grade and butchered locally and not through a factory. NEVER feed cooked bones. The only time bone should be cooked is to make bone broth and then the bones need to be thrown away and NOT fed. Once a product has been shipped or picked up we cannot take back food items due to contamination and temperature regulation. Sales are final.

Please take photos and contact us immediately and we will resolve issues on a case by case basis. If a meal has arrived and is only a partial thaw and has not started to expire, use that as the first feed and put the rest in your proper storage space to either maintain the frozen state or begin the slow thaw for feed.

If you purchase any of the pantry plan meals we already take care of the minimum three week freeze time frame. Due to quality assurance and inventory it is likely that meals will have been frozen beyond the three week time frame due to a larger inventory, so we take care of that concern for you. If you are DIY and preparing at home on your own, please freeze any wild caught game and poultry for three weeks to ensure that there is no bacteria or parasite growth before you feed. It has been stated that if the resources are in store purchases there is no need to freeze for three weeks. However, it would be advisable to note that shipments to stores can accidentally thaw out during shipment so if you would like to be safe you can follow the same guideline for in store resourcing. 

Days thawed may vary depending on if the container has been opened and exposed to air, as well as if it was not kept cold and allowed to rise to room temperature. There are many factors when it comes to thawing and feeding. Generally, if a meal is thawed and NOT opened and exposed to air until the time of feeding it could last up to 5 days. If the meal has been opened, and was left for feeding but not consumed and put back in the refrigerator then assume a much shorter lifespan depending on how long it was left out. 

No, bone is an important part of the diet that provides calcium, vitamins, and helps make sure the stool is more firm and not diarrhea. Bones can be ground into a powder and fed, or small poultry bones can be fed as well. NEVER feed bones that have been cooked.
